Putting the PT in PTC

I couldn't resist.....

Gardening Toddler

Peter has had lots of adventures in the garden with grandma and grandpa this summer.  And he is still a tomato eating maniac!

Checking out the wheel on the wheelbarrow with Grandpa Jay.  He has been enamored with wheels for the last few months.

Pulling weeds with grandma Pam

Eating tomatoes with mama.  Every time he devours one I am amazed!

Play ball!

Peter went to his first baseball game this afternoon.  We had a great time even though it rained.  Seriously - we're Oregonians. It doesn't phase us, even in August.

Grandpa Bill was very excited to take him to his first baseball game

Tiny Tahoe Tike

We had a great vacation down in Lake Tahoe this past week.  It was so nice to relax and spend time with family (to finally see my sister and John!).  Peter was a rock star in the car and did a lot of napping and sleeping.  Looks like he takes after his mama in that department.  Once again I spent the entire week feeling very very thankful and grateful for such an amazing family and support.

On our way home, we swung down to Castro Valley and visited Peter's great grandpa and great aunt/uncle Debbie and Larry.  We also got to see our buddies Amy and Luke.  Such a great trip!

Mountain biking at Fallen Leaf lake (John was wearing a helmet, I promise)

Uncle John and Peter

Peter found some new toys at the house we were staying at - he was pretty enamored by this doll's hair

Another new favorite toy - dominos!  He crawled around with one in each hand the entire trip

Practicing PT on vacation......it's a Temes thing

Celebrating our birthdays

The lake!  Frigin cold

Wearing the "man jams" that Linds got Peter in Afghanistan.  (According to Lindsay "man jams" is not a derrogatory nickname for this apparrel, just purely what they are called).

Hanging with Daddy

Lindsay and Peter taking each other in - I can just hear Peter....."So Lindsay, tell me about your time overseas - the pure and simple truth?"

Hiking with the fam

Weee!!  (notice the blocks in hand - this is a constant.......must have a block in each hand)
Wrestling with uncle John

Checking out the Walther play house - there is even a slide inside (see the red slide through the windows!).  There is also a built in crib on the left - very very cool.

Such a cool play house aunt Debbie!
Visiting Luke and Amy

Loving my new "Peter Rabbit"

On the drive home we stopped at the Rogue Valley Creamery and tasted blue cheese.  To our surprise Peter loved it and kept wanting more.  Expensive and sophisticated taste bud!  Then when we got home he ate 2.5 big beefsteak tomatoes - like they were apples!  His tastes crack me up.  All in all, a very fun vacation.

Birthday Bash - 1 year old!

What a great year.  I'm sort of in disbelief that Peter's first birthday has come and gone.  In reflection of his first year, a good friend told me - "the days are long, but the year's are short".    That's kind of how I feel.  Every day, and every night still feels like an adventure.  At the same time the last 6mo feel like a blur.   An amazing, wonderful, exhausting whirlwind!

I am one lucky mama, wife, sister and daughter.  That's the best way I can put it.  Thanks for everyone's support this last year.

Here are some pics to recap the weekend (Crescent Lake).  Peter was surrounded by both of his grandmas and grandpas, his parents and his aunt Karin - such a happy boy.

First boat ride

Aunt Karin using Peter as a kettlebell to do her Crossfit WOD

We met Jake in Bend and he got to carry Peter across the finish line for the Cascade Lakes Relay (Jake ran 37mi in 24hrs!)

Grandma made Peter a homemade angel food cake!  Sadly he was so exhausted he didn't want any.  We tried several times over the weekend and he just wasn't interested in cake.  Can't complain as a parent!
Happy birthday Peter!  (He was totally exhausted at this point and crashed pretty soon after)

Opening up presents the next morning.

Safety first - Love mom and dad

"Chicka chicka boom boom!"
Tried to offer him the cake the following day - still a no go.  Totally not interested and he literally crawled right through the cake.

Loving his time with uncle Josh
