Long Legs

Peter is pulling up to stand on everything - mama included.  He is racing up the stairs and is pseudo going down them (with a lot of coaching and manual cues to slide down backwards).  It's been fun.  It's been exhausting.  It has been so cool to watch him develop these new skills.

And he turns 1 in a week!

"ooo"  (Peter's favorite sound these days) - "look what I can do mom"

The ascent

"turn around!  on your tummy!"  (says mama)

Loving the borrowed stroller to practice standing and walking - thanks Della!

Reading at the couch

"why did you lock the cabinets mom?  I just want to play with the stereo"  What a face

4th of July

Butte to Butte 10k

We started the day off with a bang and ran the Butte to Butte.  Jake did a great job pushing Peter in the stroller the entire way (shout out and thanks to Josh for helping up that steep hill!).  He finished among the top 10 runners pushing strollers!  Peter fell asleep about 1/2 way into the 2nd mile and was out until the finish.  It was my first race back post baby and a blast.

Pre-race bear snuggle

Close to mile 3 (Josh, Jake, Peter is asleep and Amy) - all in red

Catching up with my buddy Addison!
Getting pumped for the race!

Finished!
Born to race
"Score!" - celebrating the 10k finish with grandma Pam (in Clifton fashion, with coffee of course)

Happy 4th of July!

Playing with blocks - my all time favorite

I'm sitting here writing this blog right now hoping Peter doesn't wake up with all the fireworks going on outside!  Funny how fast my enjoyment of fireworks fades when there is a sleeping babe a few feet away.

Pool time!

So what's a boy and his mama to do when the temp is above 80 and we are melting here in Eugene?  - Buy our very own pool, that's what!

We set up Peter's very own pool outside and played with his toys while we cooled off at the same time.  Such a great day!
This is awesome!!

Mesmerized by the light dancing on the water

He is pulling to stand on everything!  I think this is right before he did a header out of the pool
Playing with the screen door (in his elephant towel I might add)

This evening Jake and I cleaned out the hot tub.  We are going to fill it and heat it up to about 90 degrees (or around there) so Peter can play/swim in it (when it's not quite so hot, obviously).  Should be a  fun addition to the yard for him - more pics to come I imagine.

Camping Cliftons

We did it!  We survived and it was really fun.  So fun that we only went for one night and 1.5 very full days - but we really felt like we got the entire experience.  We went camping at Whitaker Creek with our great friends the Lafferty's.  It was a great camping spot with proximity to a great creek and a warmer swimming spot at Clay creek close by.

Here are some pictures to document the trip.  Aleta gets the award for being the most hardcore pregnant mama, camping in the heat, heading out early to get our camp spot and setting up an awesome all around trip!

Camp Clifton - literally.  We had two cots and a pack n play in that tent, pretty great set up

Roasting "dough-boys" over the fire (biscuits wrapped over buttered dowels)

Hmmm - what does this taste like?

Alternative camping with a kiddo set - up

Yummy stick

Morning nap while hiking

Peter was hilarious in the pack/play inside the tent.  Cracked me up.  Turns out he can now pull to standing in the pack/play.

Hi mom

Love this smile!

Reading Ten Babies - one of his favorites

I'm standing! (This is now proving to make bed time way more challenging now that we are home)

Playing in Whitaker creek

Oh these rocks!!  Future geologist?

Crawling around

Peter loves wheels - on anything!  Whenever he plays with the BOB he tries to get his hands on as many wheels at once - hilarious.

The fleece was warm, but was a great romper for the campsite
